Welcome to the new European Commissioner John Dalli

(05.04.2010) The European Parliament (EP) in Strasburg confirmed in February 2010, the 61 year old Maltese politician John Dalli to the Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection of the European Commission with a majority of 488 of total 679 votes. John Dalli, who was born on the 5th of October 1948 in Qormi (Malta), is a conservative politician who is married to Jossette Dalli (born Callus) and he has two daughters. John Dalli has several high entries in financial administration and management held in Malta and Brussels. Before his election to the Commissioner of the European Commission, John Dalli worked for the Government as a management consultant. In 1987, he was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for industry. From 1992 to 1996, he was the Finance Minister of Malta and from 1998 until 2004 Minister of finance and economy, in 2004 the Minister of foreign Affairs and investment promotions and also Minister for social policy from 2008 to 2010. For his political position as the new European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection we wish him especially good luck and a lot of success, we are looking forward for a good coorporation in the coming future.
